Very few reports on a difficult week for the Combination. Ideal extended their lead at the top of the Senior Division courtesy of a 4-0 win over fading Cottons Park. Medhurst will be the favourites if they manage to finish their league campaign as they put Essex Snooker to the sword with a commanding 3-0 win. South Ilford Catholics consolidated a good position in the top part of the table after heaping misery on Nova FC by the same scoreline.
In the Second Division, Liberty smashed six past a bemused Emerhorns to maintain some pressure in the promotion places. Ferns Seniors put paid to the challenge of Plastonia with a 3-0 win, while Lakeview “A” edged out Vernon 2-1 in a thriller.
In the Third Division, Two wins for Sibthorpe in a double-banker cemented their position as league leaders. Dalton Sports overcame a determined challenge from West Ham Deaf, sneaking home by the odd goal in three.
In Lizzimore Cup action, the remaining semi-finalists were decided when Rainham Working Mens Club held off a spirited Station Garage and celebrated a hard-fought 2-1 victory. Elsewhere, Romstar’s 3-0 triumph ended the hopes of Barking Rangers to continue an impressive run that sees them as joint favourites for a promotion place too. |
